Tappi Announces Board of Directors Election Results

TAPPI’s new Board of Directors: Robert J. Gallo (Voith), Jeff Hamilton (Sappi Fine Paper North America) and Chris Luettgen (Kimberly-Clark). Elected to begin their three year terms in March 2010, they will join Jeffrey J. Siegel (Mica Corporation) and Norman F. Marsolan (Institute of Paper Science & Technology-IPST @ Georgia Tech), who continue to serve as TAPPI Chair, and TAPPI Vice Chair, respectively.
Gallo is president of Voith Paper North America based in both Appleton, Wisconsin and Wilson, North Carolina, and has been a member of TAPPI since 1979. Hamilton comes from a paper-making family and is Corporate Director of Manufacturing Services and deeply involved in Sappi’s manufacturing, technical and R&D activity driving the sharing of best practices and encouraging knowledge transfer with teams from Sappi sites around the world. Luettgen has worked in Research, Engineering and Operations with Scott Paper and with Kimberly-Clark Corporation and currently serves as Senior R&E Manager, Business Support, K-C Professional Business; he has been an active member of TAPPI since 1986.
Gallo, Hamilton and Luettgen will join these Directors who will continue to serve on the TAPPI Board: Davide R. Friedman (General Mills), Thomas J. Garland (PaperWorks Industries Inc.), Larry N. Montague (TAPPI), Dr. Vince F. Newberry (Mondi Akrosil, LLC), Thomas E. Rodencal (Rodencal Paper Consulting), Gary M. Scott (SUNY-ESF), and Nicki S. Slusser (International Paper).
Former TAPPI Chair, Mark R. McCollister (Paperchine, Inc.) served as chairman of the 2010 Nominating Committee. Other committee members included Kathleen M. Bennett (Kathleen M. Bennett Consulting LLC), Roger H. Brear (Domtar Paper Co.), Dr. Harry T. Cullinan (Auburn University), Scott Frasca (RohmNova), Dr. J. Philip E. Jones, (IMERYS), Joseph Konkel (Georgia-Pacific Corporation), Larry N. Montague (TAPPI), Janet Neighbors (International Paper) and non-voting member Norman F. Marsolan (IPST @ Georgia Tech).
