BAHLARA FURNISHING SYSTEM BY FARAM_ITALY, WINS THE GOOD DESIGN AWARDS 2019

Faram wins the Furniture category at the Good Design Awards with its operational furnishing system, Bahlara.

Honoured for its strong innovative feature and the original cross-culture horizon from which it comes, Bahlara can be configured, expanded , reduced and adapted continuously to meet the needs of the contemporary workspace, in constant tension between aesthetics and functionality , using new paradigms of discontinuity, flexibility and harmonic interpretation of apparent chaos as the driving criteria. Made up of desks, benches and chairs that draw inspiration from the extreme functionality and spontaneous aesthetics of market stalls like the Ballarò market in Palermo, from which it takes its name, Bahlara advances the re-appropriation of the workspace as a place dedicated to people, allowing both extreme customisation in every element as well as the creation of a versatile yet structured work space, that can be perfectly adapted to the needs of the individual and, above all, to the community that populates today’s workspaces .
The Good Design Awards, established in 1950 by the Chicago Atheneum , is one of the most prestigious industrial design awards of international renown which recognizes each year’s most innovative products that meet clear criteria of functionality and sustainability . Products are subsequently displayed permanently at the Chicago Atheneum Museum of Architecture and Design. With this award, Faram, led, for the past two years, by CEO Massimiliano Giacomelli , once again confirms its true vocation: to create furnishing elements generating spaces that can foster creativity , debate and well-being .
