HORREDS_SWEDEN, CABINET & OFFICE FURNITURE SINCE 1936

My grandfather Sven, set up in business as a cabinet maker in 1936 at the age of 25. Right from the outset, the company was taking custom commissions for cupboards, tables and chairs. Our strategy: We manufacture and sell office furniture, meeting places and furniture that support / work together with these two segments.

We have always been interested in the needs of the future, at the workplace and at home. This year we add extra weight to the meeting place, the softer part of a room or a surface that lets the creativity flow, competencies to meet and new ideas to become reality. The expression “form follows function” was coined by the architect Louis Sullivan in the last century. The designer´s task was to find the intrinsic function and the outer form would then follow on naturally. This is equally true today. Every tiny detail in our furniture is designed to serve a purpose; to simplify and enhance different settings and situations throughout the working day. Oak, steel and rock ´n´roll People often say about flavors that ” they blend in your mouth”. We have the same view of our love of material, our passion for form and our desire to give every detail the same high-quality finish. We take pride in our partnerships with furniture designers and interior architects. Together, we create stylish furniture that synergies with its surroundings, brind added edge, and blends readily with future updates. Making an impression with minimal impact Our surroundings have naturally influenced us and our approach to furniture making. Words like “local” and “long-term” have been embedded in our company culture since its inception in 1936. The mission of creating furniture made to last and serve a life-long purpose. Designs which make an impression but have minimum impact on our natural environment. We are committed to manufacturing our furniture with pride. Just like granddad did.”
