Fantoni introduce a highly significant new partnership with one of the world's most successful design and architecture firm: Gensler. Established in 1965 in San Francisco, Gensler is one of the biggest design companies in the world, with 48 offices across the globe: 6,000 people serve 3,500 clients in every industrial sector, to make working and socializing spaces more inspiring, striking and welcoming; they handle everything from architecture to interior design, urban planning and graphic design.
They first met some months ago during the renovation of the Gensler offices in London, where Fantoni was asked to design the spaces, all open-plan, with customized furniture. The renovation of Gensler's London offices by Fantoni will be completed in May. The two companies shared the same idea of designing working spaces, using the power of design to create a better working world. This led to a broader collaboration, which in turn resulted in the development of ATELIER, a particularly innovative office furnishing system. ATELIER is a highly flexible furniture solution created in response to situations of constant flux within the workplace. In response to current trends in office culture, Atelier successfully combines numerous space-related functions, offering functional durability and economic efficiency. The modular structure easily adapts to technological advances and to the demands of a constantly-evolving world of work. The extremely innovative system comprises four main elements: a configurable workstation, an equally configurable 105-cm-high multifunctional collaboration table, a family of dynamic storage units complete with mobile pinboard and a bookcase/storage system. The collaboration tables and touchdown tables speak of configurability in the workplace, but above all of shared work, multi-functionality, informality at work, teamwork and efficiency. They create immersive experiences and are all about innovative ideas and change, which does not take place on its own, and needs to be encouraged and facilitated. The mobile pinboard makes it possible to hold meetings anywhere, and when required, to detach the panel, complete with notes or a moodboard of fabrics, and take it to a different workstation, or hang it on the bookcase for further sharing. Keeping these mobile workers constantly connected, with elegant cable management solutions on all tables, means they are more satisfied and productive, and also that they can shift between different working spaces, from collaborative to social spaces, from open plan to more private areas. The strongly industrial and experimental nature of ATELIER reflects the attitude of companies that define themselves in terms of constant change, and emphasises the power of office branding as a key part of the creative process in collaborative offices. It may seem like an unusual priority, but in reality it helps to expand the workplace culture, reassuring staff members of their value within the organization and of the importance of teamwork.
