The room in room concept integrated into the open kitchen space by RK Küchenkultur makes an architectural statement in the form of a free-standing cube featuring all-round lighting. At the same time, the walk-in design element acts as a practical utility room, giving the handle-less lacquered kitchen run practical extra storage space from a lacquered front. And that also convinced the jury of this year's GLOBAL KITCHEN DESIGN AWARD, which agreed that the open design of the planning project was worthy of second place in the international comparison.
By using the special color "signal white", RK Küchenkultur integrated harmonious color transitions between the kitchen and living area. Plates, pots, pans: the room in room concept is not just a visual eye catcher in the kitchen area but also serves as a place for stowing away household items at the same time. This is where everyone gets together: the island block with an added round-the-corner bar is a communicative meeting point and functional workspace at the same time, and cleverly combines the kitchen with the adjoining living room. As a contrasting counterpart to the light room design, the island block in deep brasilia together with a top-quality concrete surface and warm wooden details provide visual highlights.
