Weyerhaeuser USA: 7,8 billion USD net sales in 2017 with 12,700 employees

Weyerhaeuser Company began more than 100 years ago with 900,000 acres of timberland, three employees and a small office in Tacoma, Washington. Founded in 1900 by Frederick Weyerhaeuser, we’ve grown to become one of the largest sustainable forest products companies in the world. We invite you to explore our rich history of expertise, innovation and strong values, which form the foundation of our company for many more decades to come.

In January 1900, Frederick Weyerhaeuser and 15 partners took a step that stirred the imagination and signaled a new era in the history of the lumber industry. In the largest private land transaction in American history to that time, they purchased 900,000 acres of Washington state timberland from the Northern Pacific Railway. The most important Weyerhaeuser’s business are: Timberlands, Cellulose fibres, Panels, Wood products and Engineered lumber products. We grow trees and make forest products that improve lives in fundamental ways. Our wood products are used to build homes, where families are sheltered and raised. Our cellulose fibers are used to make diapers and other hygiene products that keep people clean and healthy.
We innovate to use trees in products you may not expect, such as fabric, plastics and energy. We’re serious about safety, focused on performance and proud of what we do. In every corner of our company, you’ll find talented people who care about each other, the communities where we operate, and the planet we all share. We know you have a choice in your career. We want you to join us as we work together to grow a truly great company for our shareholders, customers and employees. For more than a century, we’ve been growing trees and making forest products that improve lives in fundamental ways. Our wood products are used to build homes where families are sheltered and raised. And our cellulose fibers are used to make diapers and other hygiene products that keep people clean and healthy. In the end of 2013 Weyerhaeuser acquire the company Pacific North West Timberlands/Seattle and in the future the program is the expansion in Timberland. Weyerhaeuser Company, one of the world's largest private owners of timberlands, began operations in 1900. We own or control nearly 7 million acres of timberlands, primarily in the U.S., and manage additional timberlands under long-term licenses in Canada. We manage these timberlands on a sustainable basis in compliance with internationally recognized forestry standards. We are also one of the largest manufacturers of wood and cellulose fibers products. Our company is a real estate investment trust.
In 2017, we generated $ 7.8 billion in net sales and employed approximately 12,700 people who serve customers worldwide.
The company is listed on the Dow Jones World Sustainability Index. The common stock trades on the New York Stock Exchange is under the symbol WY.
