THE 69th INTERNATIONAL SOFTWOOD CONFERENCE, HELSINKI 13-14 OCTOBER 2021

The European Timber Federation (ETTF) and the European Organization of the Sawmill Industry (EOS), together with hosting association Sahateollisuus (Finnish Sawmills Association) announce that the 69th International Softwood Conference (ISC) will take place in a hybrid form (both physical and digital) on 13-14 October 2021.

"The ongoing pandemic, the high level of uncertainty, but also the willingness to have the feel of a normal conference, pushed us to come up with this innovative format for the ISC 2021” said Kai Merivuori, Managing Director of Sahateollisuus, in agreement with EOS and ETTF. While the co-organizers look forward to meeting in person the many stakeholders that have made this event an unparalleled one in the wood world, the hybrid format will allow people who cannot travel to attend the Conference and enjoy the knowledge that will be shared during the event.
The ISC in 2021 will be particularly interesting in view of the unprecedented market developments that have been taking place since the beginning of the pandemic. The high-level presenters at the ISC will strive to forecast how the market will move in the foreseeable future ensuring good geographical coverage and stimulating topics. The hybrid ISC conference will be held on 14 October in one day and will be preceded by the traditional welcome cocktail on October 13. The gala dinner will take place on October 14. The ISC 2021 will be moderated by long-serving moderator and timber market expert Keith Fryer.
