Warmest greetings and welcome to Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corp.

In tandem with the government΄s aspiration to provide all of its services through information communication technology, STIDC has launched its website to share the latest information on the Corporation΄s activities as well as the wood-based sector of Sarawak. Sarawak is committed to maintaining a sustainable balance between commercial harvesting and conservation of the rich natural resources of its forest. This will ensure a steady contribution of the forest sector to the growth of the state and national economy. The Sarawak timber industry has come a long way from its humble beginnings four decades ago in logging, to a technologically advanced multi-billion Ringgit industry today.

In a continuing effort to improve its services to the timber industries, STIDC have gone beyond mere computerization or transfer of the manual system into an IT-based electronic system for carrying out the duties and responsibilities. This was achieved through the development of its own web based application and approval system such as the e-Permit, Grading Information System (GIS), e-Regnet and Pidnet.
The State Government, through STIDC and other relevant agencies, recognizes the important role of the timber industry in the Sarawak economy and therefore strives to sustain development of the industry. I hope that this website will benefit both local and international timber investors as well as the public in general towards providing precise and up to date information on the STIDC as an organization and the investment climate of the state to potential investors. Your suggestions and views with regards to this website are most welcome.
