KASTAMONU ENTEGRE continues expansion strategy by building and innovative MDF line in Tatarstan/Russia.

The Turkish wood-based panel manufacturer Kastamonu Entegre A. S. is building a complete MDF plant at the Alabuga location in Russian Tatarstan.
The forming and pressing line includes a 9’ x 55,3 m ContiRoll press of the 8th generation by Siempelkamp. The line is planned to produce 480.000 m3/year. There will also be a laminate flooring production line in this location with a capacity of 20 million m2/year.
Investment in Tatarstan began in 2012. Start up is scheduled for the end of 2013.
According to company management, cultural and historical ties between Tatarstan and Turkey, excellent infrastructure of S.E.Z. Alabuga, the advantage provided as being a logistics base between Russia and the C.I.S. countries and being close to raw material resources, were important factors in the investment decision taken for Tatarstan.
The investment will create 500 direct and 2.500 indirect jobs. The next phases of the investment includes a particleboard line with a capacity of 720.000 m3/year and an OSB line with a capacity of 500.000 m3/year. When the three phases of investment are completed, with a total production capacity of 1.7 million m3/year, it will be the world's largest integrated plant in one location.
Kastamonu Integrated, established in 1969, is a fast growing company, progressing rapidly to reach its goal of being a regional power in the sector while maintaining or slightly increasing its market share of 30% in the domestic market. The company achieved a turnover of 1.1 billion USD in year 2012 ( 2011: 860 million USD ).
The product range includes raw and melamine faced particleboard, MDF (medium density fiberboard), laminate flooring (Floorpan, Artfloor, Sunfloor), doorskin (Dorpan) and similar value added products for the furniture, building, decoration and DIY industries.
4 million m2 open, 900 thousand m2 closed production area, a yearly production capacity of ; 2.3 million m3 chipboard, 1.2 million m3 MDF, 40 million m2 laminate flooring , 17 million pieces doorskin puts Kastamonu to number 6th ranking in Europe and number 10th in the world.
Presently, the company employs 4.700 people and has 12 plants at 9 different locations. 8 plants exist in Turkey and 4 plants outside of Turkey ( Bulgaria Particleboard, Romania Doorskin and Particleboard, Bosnia Herzegovina Kraft Paper for packaging industry ). The 13th plant is under construction in Russian Federation, Tatarstan.
