Fagus-GreCon take over the Improve Process Analytics, Austria
Fagus-GreCon, international leading manufacturers of, among others, measuring systems for the wood based panel industry, take over the majority interest of Improve Process Analytics and Control GmbH (Ipac) located in Villach, Austria, effective from 15th September 2016. With this investment, Fagus-GreCon expand their competence especially in the area of visual measuring systems.
With the Advanced Color Measurement System ACMS, the company Ipac is the technological leader for the colour measurement of decorative surfaces. ACMS replaces the subjective assessment of physical samples by human beings by objective measuring data. „Through the future close cooperation between Fagus-GreCon and Ipac, synergistic effects arise that will be of great advantage for manufacturers of high-quality decorative surfaces”, says Harald Jordan, previous and future Managing Director of Ipac. The ACMS is the only color measuring system that is accepted by both printing plants of decorative paper and the processing wood based panel industry for the reproduction of decors for the color match and certification of the color effects and contrast. The color match allows the production of a defined quality while waste paper and scrapping steps are reduced. With ACMS replacing the visual and subjective quality control by objective measuring data, the system provides the precondition for the introduction of the Digital Quality Management (DQM). With the introduction of the DQM, the sending and assessment of physical samples between printing plants of decorative paper and their customers is no longer necessary, resulting in the saving of process costs. Leading printing plants of decorative paper and converters of decorative paper use ACMS as process tool for the color match as well as the Digital Quality Management (DQM). With the Ipac know-how in the area of color recognition and assessment, Fagus-GreCon resolutely expand their competence in visual measuring technology, image processing and process automation. The Color Measurement System ACM is a good completion of the visual measuring system GreCon SUPERSCAN for the inspection of raw and decorative panels that has been successfully used in the wood based panel industry for years.
