Italian woodworking
machinery: 3rd quarter 2005 survey
The orders’ trend of the third quarter
of the year registered a positive sign.
In the period July-September 2005, in
fact, the total amount of machines
ordered increased by 3,4% over the same
period of 2004, representing an
inversion of the negative trend of the
first part of the year. In particular,
foreign markets contributed to said
positive result with a 3,4% rise, while
the Italian market was still suffering
and recorded a 0,5% shrinkage. As the
figure is not seasonally adjusted and
the quarter under scrutiny includes the
holiday weeks of August, the comparison
with the previous period is not relevant.
According to the opinion expressed by
the companies in the sample, sales
prices remained stable, with a 1,3% rise
from the beginning of 2005. The period
of assured production at the end of
September is around 2,5 months.
