Topping-out Ceremony at Interprint

Skeleton Structure of New Engraving and Design Centre completed

With its employees and all people involved in the construction of the new building, Interprint celebrated with a “topping-out” ceremony the new Engraving and Design Centre on 23rd August. A “topping-out” ceremony is a traditional celebration when the framing for a building’s roof is completed. The skeleton structure is now fully complete. Following the first ground breaking in December 2004, the construction of the new building, which should be ready to occupancy at the end of this year, is proceeding according to schedule.
The approx. 2,800 square metres of floor space in the new building are spread across three floors: the ground floor will accommodate the new printing cylinder engraving and galvanic department that will use state of the art technology. The upper floors provide generous areas for the decor presentation and the decor development department and offices for the sales department. With this investment of about 8 million Euro, the overall space accommodations at the Arnsberg site will be improved because the relocation of various departments will create vacant space for production and office areas at the headquarters.

With this building project, Interprint is reinforcing its efficiency in decor development for the customers’ benefit. Just like the integration of the Repro Department, the engraving of the printing cylinders will allow the company to react to customer wishes even more flexibly in the future. The “time to market” aspect – the quick implementation of market requirements in new products – and improved customer service were the deciding factors for this investment.
The interior finishing will be completed during the coming months. The mechanical services and the process technology in the galvanic and engraving department will be installed in parallel. The cylinder engraving department will move into the building as early as December this year, with the office and presentation space being put into use at the beginning of 2006.
